By Authors of Spouse Illustrated / Posted on 01 July 2011

10. Take charge, and see if she feels the same way after some boot knocking.

9.   See if she just stocked the cupboard with  chocolate and Motrin®.  Bring it to her.

8.  Call her ex and see if she made him go to counseling.  If yes, go out for beers with him and let her go to counseling.

7.  Ask her why she wants you to go, and plan an exit strategy if you hear the following: “I am not happy, and you need to change”

6.  Find out if she is recording Dr. Phil every day.  If  yes, find a friend with a comfortable sofa.

5.  Destroy her Alanis Morisette CDs.

4.  Take a look at her contact list and see if one or more therapists are already listed.  Check your  contact list and make sure you haven’t permanently deleted other women.

3.  Check her book collection for books on men with  titles inluding the words train, control or manage. Make a trip to Goodwill.

2.  Go to the website of the counselor she has  selected and head for the hills if you see such  descriptions as:

Women empowerment

Yoga for the female journey

Embrace your cycles and moods

Limitless potentials and your anger

Strategies for when you must live with a man

1.  And the most important thing to do if you aren’t  already married to her… ask yourself this: Would you take a car to get repaired before you  actually bought it?!
